September 1, 2008

One heck of a picture, isn't it? Another monster headed for New Orleans. This time, at least, it appears that the government (FEMA) has some idea of what's ahead. We can only hope so.
I was looking at FNST Radio’s statistics for this past week. I'd like to thank our listeners in Bradenton Florida, The Netherlands, York Pennsylvania, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach South Carolina, Dover Pennsylvania, Chicago Illinois and San Diego California, among others, for joining us. It’s always good to see people we know and great to see new isp’s as well.
Are you ready for the next 65 days? The constant advertisements on the TV?
I know I’m going to be sick of the “Vote for me!” stuff.
Do other democracies have this long, drawn out, type of campaign?
I hope y'all enjoy the show. Oh, and either way..................write to us, please.

August 25th (sort of)

Finally I've completed a project the Techie Gnome and I have been talking about for a full year!

The FNST window stickers are done. (APPLAUSE APPLAUSE)

If you'd like one for your vehicle they're free. Sorta, kinda.

What you need to do is send me an email, I respond with the address, then you send a self addressed, stamped, envelope and I'll ship as many as you would like.

Help FNST Radio grow and add to the confusion on our highways at the same time. How much more can you ask for?????

Yippee Ki Yi Yay !!!!!

I'm supposed to be cutting the grass, installing signage on a van, finishing Monday's show and a million other things. Took a minute to come inside (darn hot out there) and just played a game of speed solitaire...............

7,435 in 104 seconds.....................

*wandering back to work humming "We Are The Champions"*

August 17, 2008

The Monday show is done. Not an easy chore when one is sick with some kind of flu/food poisoning/something.

If it's heavy on Isaac Hayes, it's because I didn't check with the Techie Gnome about his last show. You get a double dose of soul...........that ain't too bad.

I'm putting together a couple of new Wednesday Night shows. Get your requests in the e-mail.
So far we have The Magnificent Men, Class Act, Class of 60, Wilmer & The Dukes, Mark Cassara, Don Potter and even Tommy James (don't ask.........it's a request show).

Anyway, I hope y'all have a great week and I'm serious about hearing from you. It gets damn lonely down here in the dungeon.

P.S.

We had a glitch at the beginning of the program..........pooter issue, but it's fixed and the 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm shows will be at the right times. If you're listening to the 3:00 pm show, it's about 10 minutes later than usual.

Is it just me or did The Orioles ever do anything better than "Crying In The Chapel"? After listening to multiple cuts and allowing for the primitive recording techniques of the day, I still think The Ink Spots and Mills Brothers did a far better job. My opinion....voice yours.

I'm listening to the show as I write this. I did most of the voice work on my new "station only" pooter and I'm still figuring out the sound card. It's way different than what I've been using for the past two years. Hang in there, it'll get better.

August 11, 2009

Tonight's show was already finished and delivered to the
Techie Gnome when the news reported Isaac Hayes passing.
A talented musician, Oscar and Grammy winner, Isaac
Hayes gave voice to feelings. That's what "soul" is all about.
Next time you hear "Shaft" or "Hold On, I'm Coming" , "Soul Man" and "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby", remember you're hearing the soul of Ike Hayes.
****************************************************
Enjoy tonight's show.
Take care of each other.

August 4, 2008

Okay, as I write this it's really August 3rd..........oh well.

I hope you enjoy tonight's show. I actually had fun with it and tried to make all the genres fit into a coherent piece. Let me know how you liked it.

I'm already at work on next week's show. Little bit of Jazz, little bit of big band, lots of "aged in soul".

Oh! Want to have some fun? Next time you're in Wal Mart, Target, etc. just take a small bag of M&M's to the service desk and try to put them on lay away.

Be good to yourselves and each other.
