We're through the holidays! (thank goodness) I don't mean to be a curmudgeon but there are times.........
Tonight's show is neat in a couple of ways. First, I'm "debuting" the new CD by Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns. Once again these guys blow me away. Hammond, Horns, Harmonies and a killer bass ....it doesn't get a lot better. If you love brass, you have to get these CD's.
This week is also special for the birthdays. I have three friends on the list.
January 4th is Paul Cockburn's birthday. We've enjoyed many hours of laughter and sometimes serious discussions on this magic box. The Atlantic Ocean doesn't stop friendship.
January 6th is Rusty Campbell's special day. I've known him for over 30 years and thank goodness he doesn't tell stories.
January 7th belongs to one of the most talented musicians I've ever known. Bill Richter's knowledge of chords and progression was always a delight when he played organ with The Magnificent Men. On top of this he's a truly nice person.
There are a few new tunes, a bunch of favorites (of mine anyway) and the usual mix.
I hope you enjoy the show.
