May 3, 2010

It's only Thursday evening, April 29th as I write this but I'm "home".
Central Pennsylvania has always been home and no matter where else
my life may take me, this is where my "soul" seems to be.

Last night I had the pleasure of listening to the rehearsal for part of the
Class Of 60 Somethin' . Once again, I'm astounded by the amount of hard work
that goes into a twice yearly show. (I'd forgotten how hard practice can be but not how
rewarding the result is)

This afternoon I wandered around for a little while. Exploring some of the places
of my youth. Thomasville Airport, formerly the home of York US 30 Drag Strip,
The Shady Dell, where I saw The DellChords, and the old 615 Musical Lounge.
Heck, I even drove past White Oak Park where so many Battle Of The Bands happened.

The high point was spending a couple of hours with "the Professor" himself: Dave Bupp.
To be able to sit down.... talk, laugh and learn. I love picking Dave's brain about music.
There always seems to be more to learn. A special thanks to Wanda for her hospitality.

Oh, about Monday's show. Honestly, I don't remember a lot about it.
Guess y'all have to listen and tell me. How's that for a deal?

I do know one thing.......Al, there ain't no Bachman Turner Overdrive. LOL

Have you told anyone about FNST Radio, this past week?
Sure would be nice if you spread the word.

Until, the May 10th show, which is going to be great, take care of yourselves
and each other.
