It's been another "fast" week. Sometimes, I don't think I'll ever catch up.
Tonight's show is full of memories. A very special thank you to Ginger for loaning me the records and not bugging me for them for a year. I really do manage to get things done, eventually.
Next week, we have two shows. Monday, the 22nd, is our normal "new" music show. This one is full of the other Detroit sound, compliments of Dave Bupp. Then on Wednesday, a very special program of Christmas music. We actually had some request for a few songs, sooooooooo.
Is it soulful? I don't know about that but it's, probably, good for your soul.
To everyone who stopped by this week, thank you. It's great to see the new isp's. Pass the word to your friends. It's the only way the station can grow.
Please take care of yourselves, your families and friends.

Man, oh man! What a show, what a fantastic show! Back-to-back jams just kept me on the edge of my seat.
ReplyDeleteSo much new old music; a complete spectrum. Northern Soul to Memphis, Motown to the Carolina Beach and the West Coast - exposing some great hidden treasures.
You can never go wrong with Dave singing his heart out in "Everybody's Got a Home" (my personal favorite by Mr. Bupp) and IMHO better than the original. C.L. Blast's "Beautiful Lover" is my favorite beach/shag song.
So the show was one that would keep you on your feet. We could bop, slop, shag, shimmy and shake, hustle and social, too. ("Social" is what we Motown folks called slow-dancing.) Gee, wore me out right at the computer.
This show deserves repeating. What a line up. Certainly one of the best yet. I always appreciate the great music and sincerely thank you.
Thank you, Ginger, for the nice words and the loan of the music. There's lots more to come in the next couple of weeks. I still have some of your songs to cut and Dave Bupp was nice enough to send almost 2 full shows worth of "the other" Detroit. The man is a walking encyclopedia of R&B history.
ReplyDeleteJust listening, wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas ~F
