In my world this is the end of summer. All too soon the weather will turn colder and we'll be back to six months of yuck. Did I mention I hate snow?
This week's show has some neat stuff. The Ovations, Garnet Mimms & The Enchanters, Billy Butler & The Enchanters (no, they're not the same groups), Custer's Last Band, Larry Saunders, The Trammps and of course, my usual favorite groups.
There are two special people you should check out, if you haven't already.
Angel Rissoff is a very talented "old school" R&B'er. He's worked with Kenny Vance for years but he has a CD on the KHP label, called "Nu Soul Stew". The production is great and the songs cook. You can check it out here: www.angelmusic.com
Rhonda McDaniel. Yes, I know I've mentioned her before but the lady is somethin' else. The more I play her self titled CD, the more enjoy it. She's also on KHP and the production quality is just as fantastic. Keith has one hell of a studio. Check Rhonda's site at: http://www.rhondamcdaniel.com
I'd like to thank Dave Bupp, Daddy C and Great Britian's "Soul Hawk" for their emails this week. As always, I managed to learn even more from all three of them.
Enjoy the show, even if I do talk too damn much and have a great week.
